Sleep: Haiku Horizons Challenge

This week’s challenge word – sleep – from Haiku Horizons gave me quite a workout. I must have changed subjects three times and styles/wording a dozen before I got a poem I liked well enough to use.

New life abounds now
Even as time forward creeps
We dodge the big sleep
