Unknown: #OctPoWriMo #Acrostic Poem

Today’s prompt for OctPoWriMo was one that, well, stretched me a bit for some reason. I reckon since the suggestion including dancing to open up our creativity and the fact I can’t do that might have contributed to my difficulties! LOL

I chose one of the three prompt-word suggestions, unknown, and wrote what I reckon is a free form-acrostic poem. It’s definitely an acrostic, I’m sure of that at least, a form I’ve not tried – until now.

    Under the niceties you see
    Not often exposed
    Knocks a savageness denied
    Nothing you would expect
    Or perhaps you would
    What we think we are
    Never really existed

    1. This is a wonderfully written piece – simple and yet very effective – and the meaning is clear – but those last lines:

      What we think we are
      Never really existed

      Stunning ….

Sums up a great deal about the human condition and how we struggle to understand, define and present ourselves in the world.

      Great job 🙂
