Salt: a #tanka

what happens when the
salt loses its saltiness
which can’t be restored

without curative power
it is merely insipid

Inspired by Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.”

  1. Okay, I’m compelled–compelled, I say, smiling–to ask you to look at “looses”. Is that what you meant, or do you mean “loses”? To “loose” is to set something free; to “lose” is to misplace, or not have anymore, “gone”.
