I came across this quote and image on my Facebook feed several days ago and saved it for today.
“Let nothing be said about anyone unless it passes through the three sieves: is it true? Kind? Necessary?”
– Amy Carmichael
It speaks volumes to me about how we ought to act but, seemingly nowadays, don’t. This is one of those rare times when I really hope my perception is off.

It’s amazing how that saying can stop you in before you speak.

I so agree with you, Greg. It seems like today everyone concentrates on the negative with hatred flowing from their words. I was raised to not say anything if it might hurt someone. Sometimes silence speaks more than words. An excellent choice this week. ❤

Thank you, Colleen 🙂
I was raised similar to you; think about what you’re going to say because once it’s out it can’t be taken back. I wonder how our generation missed passing this along ? Or was it, like so much else, just ignored when it was?

My kids are about half and half in that department. It is hard when our elected officials and people running for the highest office in our land just let things come out of their mouths without a second thought. Everyone gets the idea it is alright to do and say things like that. I try to spread positive vibes to try and counteract some of that negativeness. I hope it catches on! 😀

You have a great point here, Colleen. When the folks that are supposed to be role models act the way they do it’s tough to counteract.

True. That is why we have to act the opposite so others will see that it really does make a difference! 😀 ❤
