Empty Nest #OctPoWriMo

Have you ever started to write something and just get “stuck” on it? Well, that’s what happened to me with today’s prompt from OctPoWriMo. I’m still not sure how well I like the results but here they are nonetheless. 

High above the ground 

Tucked in the branches 

A lonely nest sits empty 

Once full of finches

They one by one left 

The safety of the nest

Flying away from home 

Leaving the empty nest
