It’s been a while since I’ve participated in Ronovan’s weekly haiku challenge but I’m kind of on a roll – and laid up with my back again – so I wanted to get in this week.

Tan Renga: feeling alone
Today’s tanka comes from the Carpe Diem Haiku challenge #81. The haiku was written by Yozakura and the last two stanzas, to complete the tanka, were written by me. See the challenge post for more information.

lost in the woods around Edo –
just the autumn wind

His Last Breath
His last breath left Him
Even His disciples feared
His life had endedThree days later they saw though
Life eternal was revealedWith eyes we can’t see
What faithfully we believe
This gift is for us
This piece was inspired by the Scripture quoted above and is linked to the Carpe Diem Haiku Kai challenge breath control.
Wren’s Nest

Agile little wren
Gathering pine needles
Winters nest to be
This haiku/haiga is two-fer, covering both needle for Haiku Horizons weekly challenge and the Carpe Diem Haiku challenge wren.
Springtime

Leaves have fallen now
Springtime slowly awakens
New life abounding
Tan Renga Challenge- Howling Wind
Today is Carpe Diem Haiku Kai Tan Renga challenge day, one that I’m beginning to look forward to each week. The specific details can be found here but in short the first three stanzas are the inspiration and the last two are my addition to (hopefully) make it complete.
howling wind —
an autumn note within
the bamboo flute (C) Kala Ramesh
Dancing notes surrounding me
With peaceful tranquility
Ancestors: a haiku
Ancestors are the
Roots of my family tree
Deeply rooting me
Composed for the CDHK challenge #701- ancestors.
Tan Renga Challenge #79
Beginning with the haiku (by Ese) from the weekly Carpe Diem Haiku Kai challenge then adding my own two stanzas of seven syllableseach, this is my contribution to this week’s activity.
through the darkest hour
every tree top in the forest
adorned with a star
The night a blazed with glory
Art imitates Creation

The Bow
Today I’m not feeling so well – again – so I’m taking advantage of it as best I can and writing a little. This post is my response to the Carpe Diem Haiku Kai challenge “The Bow”.
Bow arrows quiver
Tools of a mighty hunter
Used with precision
Just Out of Reach
Under yonder tree
I sit in awe of the view
That’s just out of reach
My response to Ronovan’s weekly haiku challenge, with the key words view and reach.
