Today wraps up 31 poems in 31 days, or OctPoWriMo. It has been a fun event, getting me back to writing again, and a bit of a challenge, too, as I reckon it should be. It is hard to say how well I’ll do after this month; the holidays and all are upon us and I tend to fall out of the writing-mode. Maybe this year will be different!
Eternal life freely given
selfishness on display
societal normal today
Written for day 14 of OctPoWriMo “shameful” using the cinquain form.
This morning I ran across a haiku by Al the Author I really enjoyed. It also happened to be linked to a writing prompt I’ve been meaning to join in on but keep forgetting from The Secret Keeper.
Well, there’s no time like the present (before I forget again!) to toss my poem in the writing-ring:
a handmade work
or a poetic verse
love is the reason we create
Unlike Al, I wasn’t able to get all five words in a haiku; kudos to him again for that!
(Written in the Cinquain form.)
circle of life
surrounds us constantly
birth to grave life evaporates
here – gone
Inspired by poetry prompt #6 from Jane Doughtery Writes; compose a Cinquain
