Vast and Empty: a haiku

a vast emptiness
surrounding my weary soul
is a callous world

Inspired by the prompt from Ronovan’s weekly haiku challenge.

Inspired by this week’s prompt from Ronovan Writes, I humbly submit the following haiku:

Stop harping at me
I say most indignantly
Let’s just clear the air

I imagine the subject probably wasn’t what my regular readers expected, possibly even surprising some of you! 😉

The prompt word “sweep” from Haiku Horizons this week inspired this piece:

with broom and dust pan
I sweep the clutter away
from my heart and mind

Although it is a tall order, at the moment at least, this is something I really need to do!
